“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” – Acts 2:42
Small Group Options
Greetings!
It’s my passion to introduce to you the disciple-making ministry of small groups at Raleigh Chinese Christian Church. Small groups are an extension of Christ’s shepherding through the elders, pastors, and under shepherds. These small groups exist to glorify God vertically, and provide a horizontal vehicle to practically make disciples through the mutual ministry of small groups. God made us in His image so that we might be image bearers, but mankind rebelled and we now live in a shattered image. In Christ, we are redeemed and are being restored as image bearers of Christ. The Gospel forms Christ in our lives by the Holy Spirit and through community together. We were created and saved to worship Jesus in community, who Himself exists in community (Trinity). It is our desire that our neighbors within this city are blessed by the love of Jesus through the saved, sanctified, and sent lives of our members. These small groups are centered on the Gospel with Gospel Identities (Matthew 28:18-20) from a Trinitarian Identity:
1) God the Father adopts us and makes us family in which we love one another.
2) God the Son purchased us and makes us servants to the Master, whom we joyfully serve as a foretaste of the coming Kingdom.
3) God the Holy Spirit sends us as missionaries.
Strategically, small groups count the cost by considering where people live (geography), work/ school (vocation), and play (affinity). On Sundays, we gather corporately (main service and Sunday School: Equipping) and then we scatter into small communities (small groups & fellowships). Join a small group for the sake of the Gospel, for the welfare of the city and to the Gospel visible by displaying Christ as a local church body.
Because Jesus Christ Lives,
Pastor Gary Lee

Amanda and Mike Sherwood serve as small group leaders at RCCC. They are also part of the Ministry Resources team.
Born and raised in Nanjing, China, Amanda came to United States for college. It was not until the later years of college that God graciously saved her. After experiencing the grace of God, she realized nothing else matters more than surrendering herself completely to God and serving God humblely and faithfully for His glory. It is truly her belief that “Serve the Lord with joy for all He has done for you”.
Amanda graduated from State University of New York with dual degrees in Finance and Accounting, and currently works in Finance. She enjoys traveling, playing piano, and cooking. She also loves to try new places to eat. She has been married to her husband Mike since 2013. This couple met in Buffalo, NY and followed God’s plan to move to NC in 2015. Since then, they have been part of the RCCC family. They previously served in the Buffalo Chinese Christian Church prior to moving to NC and would love to continue serving together as a couple, impacting and growing with others together at RCCC.
God led Amanda and him to meet in Buffalo, NY and later guided them to move to Raleigh. He currently works in Solutions Development (Database Programming) and also runs a Real Estate company back in Buffalo, NY. He feels like serving God is one of the best ways to grow in Him. One of the greatest joys that God has blessed him with is to be able to serve together as a team with his wife Amanda.
In doing so, they encourage others to learn and grow, and to deepen their relationship with their Father. THey would love to meet you, to get to know you, and to share the Good News with you!
For fun, Mike enjoys playing competitive badminton, reading, and building/tinkering with things.

Rooted fellowship is a small group of young adults with the desire to grow together by being “rooted” in God’s Word and bearing fruit for outreach in the RTP community. Our name comes from Jeremiah 17:7-8:
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”
We welcome anyone and everyone! Whether you are looking to grow your faith, interested in Christianity, or looking for community and developing friendships.

Outside of church, she enjoys spending time with her dog, eating good Asian food with friends, and watching a variety of TV shows and movies. She sees RCCC as one big family, and her hope is that everyone will get to experience the same love and fellowship at RCCC that made her call North Carolina her home.
